Supercharged 1p challenge April update

Well, my good fortune has made it possible to fully commit to this project, we are now in April and I have just put away the £210 for April meaning I am £595.04 ahead of the standard 1p challenge. It is a good feeling, and has a good ramifications on other areas, as the interest will keep growing, and it will help the projected target keep on course, while other areas had been lagging. To be honest this was the one thing that kept the whole project going, I think if this month had been as expected and I had, had to miss a saving. Then it would have been curtains for it all.

Mt good fortune has brought life back into everything.

Supercharged 1p challenge March update

This currently is keeping the whole scheme together. With the shares dipping lower, not having the success of having items to sell or other monies coming in. Then a large part of this project is weighted upon this staying positive whilst the rest of it gets up to speed.

I did think it would be Feb when it would be the last time I could keep up with the pace, but I have been able to up the contributions to £6 a day for March and unless there is some major development through April I should be able to do the £7 a month element for the end of April as well.

Even if I have to slow down, at £6 a month it is equivalent to day 600 and I am 201 days into the project. The aim is always to be ahead of the standard 1p challenge so I can reach the 23 grand target.

Glad something is working out well.

Supercharged 1p challenge update

You can see from the table below how I am hoping/expecting to save money. Now a 1p challenge works on the basis of day 1 you save 1p, day 2 you save 2p, day 3 you save 3p and so on. Now where that can be a great way to save, I am always the impatient type. So I supercharged it. I have saved a pound a day for the first 50 days then from November on wards have upped the money saved per day by a £1, this month I have added January to the pot which was £124 making a total saving of £327 compared to if I had just done 1p + 1p and so on it would have been £101.53 so I am £225.47 ahead of schedule. My aim is to keep ahead of the schedule because if I hit or stay ahead of this schedule then in 6 years time I would have saved at least 23 grand.

58 Days of walking to work and not spending money at work

Stats.

So far I have walked 7 Miles in December 200 miles in total since starting this blog

I have stopped myself from spending £190 at work (£10 of which in December) on sweets and snacks, I don't really need.

Thoughts

Lots of thoughts, just how to put them in order. a target of 200 miles has been surpassed that is a good thing to have to write about. I have also surpassed £1,000 pound actually saved, which is a good psychological target to have broken through.

This is the first post about activity in December, the month has the potential of setting me up really well for 2019. Because of how my fixed shift falls, I don't actually get any days off for Christmas, it means I will get 18 days in at work so be saving £90, I have 31 days of the supercharged saving which means £93 saved >>> link to super charged saving plan <<< ) and already I have been able to put away £140 from items sold.

Selling my old phone has been a bit of a roller coaster, initially thinking I could get £240 then being shown a fault I hadn't noticed, for that offer to slump to £24 then yesterday getting £100 for it as part of the remaining dvds being sold. So as I hadn't sold anything last month it kept me well on target. with the £100 i put into the share scheme it means I have smashed through the £1,000 saved barrier (currently £1,193.02) with the not spending money and supercharged saving this makes the end of month figure being over £1,370. A very respectable achievement and a good base to go onto in 2019.

The walking is doing well, and I admit could do better but 200 miles is not to be sniffed at. My goal for 2019 is to not just be walking to work, but having some good long walks in between especially as I have two sets of holidays coming up for January and March. This is where keeping up the pace might be an issue, short time at work and a short month in February so the first three months of 2019 maybe steady and not abundant.

That is why all signs are good to look at, and I know people would laugh at the fact of me talking about 21p interest on my money last month, but seeing that figure go up and keeping an eye on it the same as everything else. Is like ensuring the watering of a plant and making sure all the buds are fine. As that figure increases it means only a very small part to the total, but the higher that interest paid is, the larger amount I have saved.

My optimism is high, I think without this I certainly wouldn't have barely anything saved, I would certainly have eaten more at work, wasted that money and be probably down with myself. At the moment I can see a bright prospect, enjoy the thoughts of having covered 200 miles and see an achievable goal into the distance.

YAY!!!

Supercharged 1p challenge update

It's the time of the month when I start putting the money to one side from what I have saved that month, For November as you can see from the chart below it is £60, equates to £2 a day which brings the total to £110 saved and makes me £77.60 ahead of the challenge of I had just done 1p on day 1, 2p on day 2, 3p on day 3 and so on.

Supercharged 1p challenge update

So far so good with my supercharged 1p challenge, for those who don't know how a 1p challenge work it is quite, simple each day you save 1p more than the day before, so day 1, you put away 1p, day 2 you put away 2p day 3 you put away 3p and so on in a year at day 365 you would be putting away £3.65. This works out to over £667.

So I worked out as I had nearly 6 years until retirement, what would happen if I carried that on for the 2,165 days and it would be over £23,400. An amazing figure with such a simple concept. Noe to me, getting a penny, then two pence, and so on seemed a bit of a chew, also I wanted to see results quickly as we all do. So for the first 50 days I have put a £1 a day away, totalling £50 now. With the intention of working out a way of upping the amount per day at certain times.

Below is a table I have worked, out and if I can keep to it, it shows the results of my actions, now come next year I am more than likely to keep it at £10 a day as that is £300 pound a month on average plus other savings I am making such as not spending money at work. It is great to see your goal, but it is no good setting one which is unachievable.

Would love your thoughts folks.

September summary of money saved

I still have the end of the month summary to do, such as the shares which I won't know until at end of play Friday I will know the latest share price, so that will be factored in to the end of the month summary.

But there are certain things which wont change there is £9 to add from the last 3 days of work (as I have no work until October) and a pound a day since starting the Supercharged 1p challenge <<< which you can find more info about at the link provided. So there have been 19 days since start to 30th September which would be £19.

£28 in total to put away panel at the side will show totals and projections.

Holiday

Time to make a wish, and here is a glorious rainbow that we had on our holiday for you to make your wish against. Obviously mine was to retire at 50 so I can be with our lass.

We didn't do as much walking as I thought we would, thanks mostly to storm Ali, so have nothing to add to the miles done so far, as for the walking we did do, I forgot to monitor.

As for money saved. there is £9 to add from the last 3 days of work and a pound a day since starting the Supercharged 1p challenge <<< which you can find more info about at the link provided. So 10 days would be £10. £19 in total to put away, which I will do the first Wednesday in October. so I have the days between now and then, a day at work and anything else I have come across.

In regards of the 1p challenge I am today 11 days in so saving £11 which on the 1p a day method would have been 66p so currently £10.34 ahead of the curve. Which is what I wish to do to help to get to the £50 grand goal, if you look at the panel at the side you will see the total saved. the projected total if I kept it up as usual, and then the progress I have done to exceed this.

Now back to enjoying the holidays.

How to boost a supercharged 1p challenge

On Wednesday I started my own 1p challenge, which I was going to extend over 6 years which in itself gave a projected total of over £23,400.

The premise being that on day 1 you save 1p, day 2 you save 2p, day 3 you save 3p and so on until day 365 you save £3.65. Now on Monday I rounded it up to a £1 as I didn't really want to be putting a penny in the savings account, and had said I would round up the total to the nearest £. But then I thought, wouldn't it be good to save more?

So here is the plan, from day 1-100 I save a £! a day, from day 101-200 I save £2 a day, and from 201-300 save £3 a day and so on, this will boost the projected total. Which is an aim for each of my differing areas I aim to source money from and save. So the panel on the right will have current savings, projected savings, and changes in projection. The first amount of savings won't be added until the first week of October, but it will be great to see them boosted even further.

Would love to read your own thoughts, or any ideas you have for saving money.

19 days of walking to and not spending money at work

Stats.

So far in September I have walked 25 miles which is 87 miles in total since starting this blog

I have stopped myself from spending £57 at work (£21 of which in Sept) on sweets and snacks I don't really need.

Thoughts.

People look at various tasks, and find them impossible to do, they see a huge mountain in front of them and wonder how are they going to scale it? The answer, one step at a time.

I have started then put away lots of projects, but noticed I had played certain games for years. That got me to thinking, that if I can play a game on my phone for years. Forge of Empires (2 years and counting) Simpsons-Tapped out (3 years and counting). Then why can't I be more productive.

This is why I am excited about the Supercharged 1p challenge <<< click the link to read more.

It will then add to the goal of saving money for when I am 50. If you say that I will save £50,000 in 6 years. You would say that, it is very difficult if not impossible, and bring out every reason to support the fact, the 6 years would fly by and you would be in the same position, wishing you had been able to save £50k.

Where as if you take it one step at a time, 1 penny at a time slowly building up, bringing what ever else you have to it as well, and see that momentum grow, and with it the sum of money, which in itself will gain more money via interest. Then even if I don't get the £50,000 I will be somewhere very close to it, but much further forward than if I had done nothing.

Well that's my thoughts, would love to read yours. Plus any ideas you have as well.
