Yougov 0 v 0 Populus

Every week or so I write a blog post about how the revenue is coming along from the opinion poll surveys that I complete. Once I hit a £50 payment that is converted to a score which you will see above, currently no payments so currently nil nil.

The above post was a nice one to get, as you put these tweets out and wonder, do people actually see them, from the response they obviously do.

Populus

Currently sitting on £26 which is quite a lead over Yougov, must admit at the moment I am normally happier to receive a Populus poll compared to a Yougov one. There is still the in trepidation of will I get accepted as one the other day got you to fill out about 10 questions and then tell you that you are not needed, but at this rate it seems populus will be the first to hit £50. But as they pay out on the points you have on the first of the month it could well be the 1st Jan total which is the one which means I have hit 50

Yougov

Now you get a steadier trickle of surveys from Yougov, but at 50p a time I must admit I have skipped at least one, I am guessing that if I was retired I would be all over them, but as this is in my free time, I simply pass it by, but if I want to get towards the £50 I must get a bit more orderly, it is after all just 8 or 10 mins. I can waste that watching the news.

Thoughts,

I have in total £43.40 as my balance between the 2 polling companies, over a 6 week period, not bad. Only get anything when they hit £50 but both well on the way, but it does look like Populus will get there first, yet as you can claim Yougov at anytime the wait till the 1st of the month may well be the advantage to YOUGOV claim anytime you hit £50. We will see.

Yougov 0 v 0 Populus

So my thought was, if folks collect my data and they get money from it, why not join opinion poll companies and at least get some money back for my thoughts and opinions. Every few weeks or so, or if there is something significant which happen, I will create a blogpost about it.

YOUGOV

Did have a strong start with this and had one opinion survey which gained me 200 points which is equal to £2, but that was just the one, the opinion surveys have gone down to 50p a go with an extra 10p for thoughts on celebrities or products, today I have had one which was only worth 25p. 2 folks have joined from following the link below and that earned me £4. So my current total is £15.55

POPULUS

Now I had one survey after joining then it went quiet, I then had two surveys come through and although you start filling them out you suddenly get a message pop up saying they don't need you for the survey, kind of led me to believe would I get anything from them. Then over a 4 day period I had 6 surveys which has brought my total up to £15. It seems you may have lulls but when you do get the surveys come through you can quickly raise your pot of money.

THOUGHTS

It seems the perfect polling survey company would be one who pays for you to find people to join them, and allows for money transfer digitally not cheque as Yougov do, but have the well paid surveys Populus does, you don't need lots every day but some good quality ones every so often, it would make the best of both worlds.

I do wonder, how the surveys will come through when I get closer to the £50 claim mark, will they slow down? Shouldn't be so pessimistic I guess.

As I write about the polling experience I will use the header to show how many £50s I have received from each one. Currently it is nil nil.

Yougov 0 v 0 Populus

Being paid for online polling, now this may not be for everyone, as you have to click buttons to say you don't care what you do with me my information. Now to me, it seems folks collect your information all the time in the back ground and don't pay you a penny for it, so why not answer a few questions and get a £50 cheque every so often for the trouble.

Yougov

They work on a 100 points equals a £1 you reach 5,000 points you can claim your £50 which is then paid into your bank in 4 weeks. You get a 100/£1 on your joining survey and all the other surveys I have done have only been 50 points so 50p a time. You get an extra 10/10p for answering do you like / dislike well know people or products. You also have something populus don't do which is refer a friend for this you get 200 points / £2 for that person joining and completing 6 surveys.

Populus

Are known for being the most generous with their polls, My first one got me £2 on the bounce they work a scheme of a £1 a point then when you reach 50 points they send you a cheque for £50 they automatically do this unlike yougov where you have to claim it. Your 50 points is dependent on what you have at the beginning of each month it also takes them 4 weeks to send the cheque out to you.

This is all a slow burner. But has the potential to gather some revenue, as I am sure the pollsters will be busy with brexit and any up coming General Election. I have been reserved on prediction saying 50 pound every 4 months making £150 a year making £950 towards my goal, I think that could be double, but we will see in the future.

As I write about the polling experience I will use the header to show many £50s I have received from each one. Currently it is nil nil.
