One thing should never really do, is to rely on an event in the future. It focuses all efforts or lack of to one point and it can be a killer to any hope if that event doesn't work out. Or even if it does work out, because you have focuses on that, then everything else now needs attention as you had let all other points of focus go.
Much like Brexit now, everyone has their eyes trained on one subject, yet so many other parts of the UK need attention and if Brexit does ever get sorted we could be put back years, not by Brexit itself but by the lack of effort in other departments due to focusing on just one subject.
I feel I have done the same, everything this month has been about interest, since I put the money in the bank, a few other bits have gone to pot. I have not been controlling my eating at work, I have been getting taxis when I could have walked, putting everything on the credit card and not caring about the amount as I knew I could pay it off at the end of the month. Now I need focus. It is great the interest is over £2 but now I need to focus so at no point I have to dip into the money, but I can add to it, and also move it to places which pay higher amounts of interest.

Interesting interest
Thanks to good things do happen £3,000 has been added to the pot. it was added on the 1st May so missed last months total, so expecting the interest for June to be over £2. With having a suitable amount put aside, I can now look at other saving options and have come across one with instant access and regular saving amounts which earns interest of £40 for the year. equating to £3.33 a month which helps towards the goal for the interest section of this project. All is looking good.

April 2019 in stats
This is the month when it could have been make or break for this project. But Good things do happen and thanks to them I have been able to put away £3,000 paid off this years council tax which means I can put that money away as well.
I have for the first time a target which is over the goal of £50,000 and for this month a projection of over £60,000
To help keep me on track as well, I have set up a column which shows how much is needed each month to hit the projection, much like a run rate in cricket.
Currently over 10% towards my goal with over five years to go, things are looking good.

Supercharged 1p challenge April update
Well, my good fortune has made it possible to fully commit to this project, we are now in April and I have just put away the £210 for April meaning I am £595.04 ahead of the standard 1p challenge. It is a good feeling, and has a good ramifications on other areas, as the interest will keep growing, and it will help the projected target keep on course, while other areas had been lagging. To be honest this was the one thing that kept the whole project going, I think if this month had been as expected and I had, had to miss a saving. Then it would have been curtains for it all.

Good things do happen.
I write this wondering should I wait until I have actually received the cheque. But hey, when have I ever been able to keep my thoughts to myself?
You must have seen the PPI adverts? Well, last year I got a cheque come through the post for a loan I had taken out 12 years ago. It was for around £83, I added it to the money saved, the lead up to the event did make me suspicious, first a letter came saying we owe you money, I was then expecting give us all your details and we will send you the money. So thought not falling for that.
Did however do an internet search and it seems other folks were getting the same letters, and the cheque came and it got banked, I on the off chance asked about the PPI on the loan, didn't think anymore of it, then last week got a letter to say I am getting over 7 grand.
This news came as an absolute god send, I am not struggling but this project would have been in doubt, holidays to pay, council tax time again, I would have struggled to put anything away, even had visions of having to dip into the money saved. This means I can pay the council tax out right so not 200 quid a month. Then splitting half with our lass. so we can both have money saved behind us.
It also means I can up the money per month saved by simply things sold or money saved. Which in turn means the target is officially over the £50,000 mark. I have not added the figure for the money yet, as I still await the cheque and it is till to be banked. But I am enjoying the planning.
You can see below how it has affected the projected targets
>>> scores on the doors <<<
All this came from something connected to my Mum, last year I found out via a search done by my wife on the internet, that my mum had died, when chasing it up, I got told they had tried to find me, I doubt they did, as they had time to clear her house, give it to charity, and a so call closed friend burnt the rest of her belongings including family photos.
So I would say this is a way of my mam shining down.
It certainly has boosted this back into life.

Interesting interest
This month has been the first where it reverses the average of interest earned per month. As to form its part and contribution it needs to be over £4.16 and at the moment it was 54p this months figure has helped that average go up. Folks may laugh, but to me it shows the health of the money I have been able to save, as that interest goes up it means the balance has also increased.
Over the coming months it will be good to report on ever increasing amounts of interest.

In life you only ever get back what you put in, so this month will show activity and responses as low, as there had been little activity so this produced little activity into the blog.
However I was able to keep up with the super charged 1 p challenge. and had been able to make a concerted effort with the opinion polls which led me to just £1 away from securing a £50 cheque, this should easily be resolved in April.
The actual saved has gone up and means I have saved over £2,300 which is good, the projection due to shares dropping and an inability to add to savings means the projected figures has dropped by a grand, although I am using the projected figure as a goal to work towards it is great to enjoy the achievements I have already made.

Do you think that we are being conned into staying within the European Union? All of this constant barrage about #Brexit has been designed to demoralise the people into staying. #PeoplesMarchVote is the same as #PollTaxRiots we still pay far more now then we did back in the day.
